Let's check the main steps of the process!

This process is a little bit more complicated than the one mentioned above. When you apply for the first time, you must also submit:
- Full civil birth certificate (the version that includes the name(s) of the parent(s).
- Civil marriage certificate if you changed your name after marriage.
- Proof of address and proof of name. Both can be original utility bills, bank statements, government correspondence. All printouts must be stamped by the issuing authority.
More documents can be required for naturalized Irish citizens, persons born abroad, or adopted persons.
What are Irish passport photo requirements?
That should be a digital coloured photograph in JPEG format, not less than 715 pixels wide and 951 pixels in height. It must be sharp and clear, and taken against an even white or light grey background.

How can I get my Irish passport?
If you are in Ireland, you will simply get your passport delivered by Express post.
If you reside outside of the country, your passport will be sent by registered post and will need to be signed for at delivery. If your daytime address is different from your home address, you should provide it along with your submission. In some countries passports may be sent to the nearest Irish Embassy. In that case you will be contacted to arrange collection or delivery.
