Indonesia Visa Guide

As of 2026, Indonesia continues to streamline its entry process for international visitors through the Electronic Visa Application System (e-Visa), first launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in 2024. This system allows foreign travelers to apply for various visa types online before arriving in Indonesia.

Do I Need a Visa for Indonesia? 2026 Policy

Indonesia offers a Visa on Arrival (VoA) or e-VoA for travelers from 97 eligible countries, allowing a stay of up to 30 days with one extension for another 30 days (total 60 days). This can be obtained online via the official e-Visa portal or at designated airports/seaports.

For citizens of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Colombia, Hong Kong, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Suriname, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, visa-free tourist entry permits a 30-day stay, which cannot be extended.

If your nationality does not qualify for visa-free or VoA, apply for a Single Entry Visitor Visa (valid up to 60 days) in advance through the official e-Visa system.

For long-term stays, work, or conducting any business activities in Indonesia, a compliant visa appropriate for your purpose is required. Tourist or VoA visas cannot be used for business or extended residency.

Note: Since October 2025, all entrants must complete the electronic Arrival Card (SATUSEHAT) via the All Indonesia system up to 72 hours before arrival, covering immigration, customs, and health declarations.
