Namibia Visa Policy in 2024
The government of Namibia allows people from certain countries to come to Namibia for tourism, to visit family and friends, or for business reasons. They can stay for up to 3 months without a visa if they have an ordinary, diplomatic, or service passport. However, everyone must ensure their passport is valid for at least six months.
People from countries that don't have a special agreement with Namibia will still need to get a visa.

To obtain a Namibia VoA, prepare essential documents such as a completed visa application form, a valid passport with at least 6 months validity and 3 blank pages, a booked/confirmed flight itinerary, proof of accommodation, a bank statement, visa fee payment receipt, and 2 recent passport-sized photos.
Namibia Tourist Visa Application Process
There are two ways to get a visa for Namibia: you can apply for it when you arrive in Namibia or you can apply for it at a Namibian embassy or consulate.
Here's how to obtain a visa at a Namibian embassy:
- Find the closest Namibian embassy or consulate and make an appointment for a visa interview.
- Fill in the visa application Form 3-1/0033 for Namibia and remember to sign it.
- Collect the required documents (listed below) and submit them to the embassy or consulate.
- Pay the visa fee and keep the receipt.
- Wait for the embassy or consulate to know if your visa application was successful.
Documents Required to Apply for Namibia Visa
To obtain your Namibia visa, you will need to have the following Namibia visa documents ready:
- A completed and signed Namibia visa application Form 3-1/0033.
- A passport that is valid for at least six months beyond your planned leave date, with at least two empty pages for the visa.
- Two recent passport-sized photos that meet Namibia visa requirements.
- Proof of where you’ll stay in Namibia, like hotel bookings, a rental contract, or an invitation letter if you’re staying with friends or family.
- Your return ticket.
- Bank statements from the last three months.
- The receipt for your visa fee payment.
- A letter, explaining why you’re visiting and how long you plan to stay.
- Your day-to-day travel plans while in Namibia.
- Medical insurance that covers your entire stay.
- A Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate if you’re coming from a country where yellow fever is common. You need to get vaccinated at least 10 days before traveling and bring your vaccination card with you. Note that yellow fever isn’t prevalent in Namibia.
If you're traveling with children under the age of 18:
- Bring their full birth certificates showing both parents' names. These need to be the original certificates or certified copies.
- If only one parent is traveling, you'll need the birth certificate plus a notarized consent from the other parent, or a court order showing you have full custody, or the other parent's death certificate.
Please note that all your documents should be in English or translated into English.
The Namibian embassy or consulate might require more documents based on your specific visa type.
Namibia Visa Photo Requirements
Your Namibia Visa photo needs to meet the following rules:
- The Namibia visa photo size should be 3.7×5.2 cm. A 35x45 photo will also work if you apply at the Namibian consulate in any European country.
- For digital photos, the size should be 874 pixels by 1228 pixels, with a quality of 600 DPI.
- The photo should show your head, taking up 70% to 80% of the image, from the bottom of your chin to the top of your head.
- The background must be white.
- The photo should be recent, snapped within the past 6 months.
- Face the camera directly with your face clearly visible.
- Maintain a neutral facial expression without smiling.
- Don’t wear glasses in the photo to ensure your face is clear.
- Hats are not allowed unless it’s for religious reasons.

How much is a visa in Namibia? The visa fee depends on the length of your stay in Namibia and the type of visa you have:
