How to apply for Singapore passport renewal online?
To renew your Singaporean passport online, simply use the ICA e-Service and login with your Singpass. There, you will need to complete your details such as:
- Identity Card Number/Birth Certificate Number/Citizenship Certificate Number;
- Passport Expiry Date;
- Recent passport photograph (no older than three months) fulfilling requirements;
- VISA or Master Credit/Debit Card, American Express Card or Internet Banking Details.
How to apply for Singapore passport renewal in person?
If you would rather apply non-electronically, you can choose to apply by post or deposit box. For that, you would need to fill out the application form (including your details and photo) and send it to:

Is it possible to renew a Singapore passport overseas?
Yes, it is possible to get a new Singaporean passport abroad. To do this, you can apply to renew online via ICA E-Service or by submitting your filled-out application form in person at your local Singaporean diplomatic mission.
If you choose the latter method, check with your embassy or consulate whether they require an appointment, as consular policies may differ and workloads may change.
Documents required for Singapore passport renewal
To renew your Singaporean passport, you would need the following documents (details):
- Identity Card Number/Birth Certificate Number/Citizenship Certificate Number;
- Passport Expiry Date (from old passport);
- Recent passport photograph (no older than three months) fulfilling requirements;
- VISA or Master Credit/Debit Card, American Express Card, or Internet Banking Details.
Singapore passport photo specifications
Check your application picture for the following criteria:
- The image must be in colour;
- The dimension of the digital photo for online application at ICA must be 400X514 pixels for online submissions;
- The digital file size must not exceed 2 MB;
- The format must be jpg, jpeg or png;
- For postal submissions, printed photos must be 35 mm wide by 45 mm high;
- The image must show the baby’s full face;
- The photo background must be plain white with a matt or semi-matt finish;
- The photo lighting and contrast must be even;
- Headwear is not allowed except for religious or cultural reasons. In any case, it should not hide facial features. It should also contrast the white background;
- The head must be centred in the picture, and your whole head and hair, as well as shoulder, must be visible;
- There must be no external objects in the picture.
