• 5-year passport: SAR 300
• 10-year passport: SAR 600

Jawazat may review the circumstances surrounding a lost or damaged passport before issuing a replacement. A financial penalty is imposed if a passport is lost or damaged due to negligence. The amount of the penalty can vary depending on the situation.

• First loss or damage: SAR 1,000
• Second loss or damage: SAR 2,000
• Third loss or damage: SAR 3,000
• For negligence within the Kingdom: A fine of SAR 2,000 may be issued.
• For negligence outside the Kingdom: A fine of SAR 3,000 may be issued.

Important exemptions: The penalty may be waived if the loss or damage was due to circumstances beyond your control and you can provide official documentation proving this.

Damaged passport

A passport that is damaged to the point that its data page, security features, or electronic chip can no longer be reliably used should be replaced. The application is submitted through the same passport services available on Absher.

The official replacement fee is the same as for a standard passport:

• SAR 300 for a 5-year passport.
• SAR 600 for an eligible 10-year passport.

When replacing a damaged passport, applicants should be prepared to provide supporting documents:

• the damaged passport;
• a valid Saudi national ID;
• any additional documents requested by Jawazat to verify identity or assess the condition of the passport.

• have your biometric data (fingerprints and photo) registered with the Ministry of Interior. The photo already stored in the system is used for your passport;
• have an up-to-date national address (Wasel) registered in Absher;
